You Know You're in France When...

You know you're in France when only official announcements by the government can be posted on white paper, all other posters/advertisements must be printed on colored paper.

A French friend just told me this today, and all I could keep saying was "Vraiment?" (really?). I thought for sure I had misunderstood, but several efforts to clarify ended with the same result - the French government controls the color of posters. I must field check this one. I'll get back to you if I find anything fishy (like an ivory colored poster, for example).
